Amaree Love | Aspiring Journalist | Sports Enthusiast | Storyteller
Hi! I’m Amaree Love, a passionate and driven aspiring journalist currently studying at the University of Connecticut. With a deep love for storytelling and a commitment to uncovering compelling narratives, I’m building a career rooted in curiosity, creativity, and truth.
So far, I’ve had the privilege of publishing three stories with the Daily Campus, UConn’s esteemed student newspaper—an experience that has only fueled my desire to grow as a writer and journalist. My current goal is to join the Daily Campus staff as a writer, and I’m working hard to make that dream a reality.
Sports have always been a central part of my life. As a lifelong tennis player, I bring a unique, athlete-informed perspective to my sports writing—offering insight, depth, and authenticity that sets my work apart in the field of sports journalism.
Along the way, I’ve been honored with the Dave Solomon Scholarship (2024) and the John Breen Journalism Scholarship (2022)—two awards that reaffirm my dedication and potential in this industry.
Outside the newsroom, I interned with Pearl Dream, a digital design company, where I developed creative and technical skills that complement my journalistic work and enhance my storytelling abilities across platforms.
Looking ahead, my ultimate goal is to become a feature producer, where I can combine my reporting skills and creative vision to bring stories to life in powerful, meaningful ways.
