Botanical Beauties
STORRS — 12:59 PM 10.08.2023 BOTANICAL BEAUTIES. It is a bright and sunny Sunday afternoon as the leaves begin to fall , the flowers begin to bloom. At the University of Connecticut in Mansfield today one of the greenhouse gardens near the Pharmacy building has one of the most interesting foliages. There are beautiful plants blooming like the Celosia Cristata. It is a native plant to India and is also known as Cock’s comb and resembles the head of a rooster. This plant is categorized as mature with a height 11-19 inches and spread of nine to 12 inches.

Inside the life of a Senior at UConn
University of Connecticut Student, Hallie Letendre, 21, is outside of Oak Hall after enjoying a Friday off from her usual busy class routines.
Hallie Letendre is a Senior, majoring in Journalism and is President of the Society of Professional Journalists. “ My schedule is always super busy,” LeTendre said after explaining her role as Staff Writer for Daily Campus and Presidency for her club. “It’s nice to just have some downtime” as she relaxes on one of the benches outside.
 

UConn “Science 1” Building

STORRS, CT— On Sept.12, 2:30 p.m., this photograph shows the “Science 1” building newly built by the University of Connecticut for the main campus.

It is 198,000-square foot and it was roughly about $220 million to make. UConn President Radenka Maric said the new building is “transforming the way we educate”, and will help students succeed.
